Our August selection is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson. This is the first book in a trilogy and it introduces an odd couple – disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist, who has been freshly sentenced to jail for being a shady businessman, and the mulipierced and tattooed Lisbeth Salander, a vulnerable superhacker. They have been hired by a rich industrialist to find out the truth of a decades old disappearance of the man’s great-niece. They uncover corruption and horrors along the way.
